Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School is the most comprehensive performing arts high school in Kentucky where students have the distinct opportunity to train, learn, and nurture their talent to become tomorrow's artists. Students are selected to attend by a competitive process that evaluates achievement test scores, academic achievement, personal essays, teacher recommendations, performing arts auditions, and on-site writing prompt. Jefferson County residents are not charged tuition. Residency in Jefferson County is required for admission to the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School.

If you are a newly accepted Manual student in the JC, HSU, MST, or VA magnet, and would like to participate in one of YPAS’ music courses as an elective, we will be accepting video auditions.  Please contact YPAS music faculty listed below as soon as possible for more information about submitting a video.  If submitting a video is not possible for you, the faculty will be able to discuss other options with you!
